How to choose your Mozambique circuit?
The choice depends mainly on available duration and desired regional combinations. A stay of 13 to 17 days allows you to discover Maputo, the Inhambane coast and the Bazaruto archipelago, the triptych of culture, diving and beaches. To add a safari in Gorongosa or venture up to the Quirimbas and Ibo island, plan for 18 days or more, including an internal flight. Travellers with three weeks can combine Mozambique with South Africa (Kruger) or Malawi (Lake Niassa), extensions we regularly organise from Maputo.
Different circuit types
We build cultural itineraries around Portuguese, Swahili and marrabenta heritage, with stops at Ilha de Moçambique and Ibo. Our adventure circuits blend diving with whale sharks in Tofo, kayaking in the Quirimbas mangroves and walking safari in Gorongosa. For family departures, we favour the lodges of Bazaruto and Benguerra, suitable for children, with snorkeling, dune walks and dolphin watching. Each itinerary remains customisable to your pace.
What is the best season?
The dry season, from May to October, offers the best general conditions: temperatures of 20 to 28°C on the coast, calm sea, visibility of 15 to 25 metres when diving and wildlife concentrated around watering holes in Gorongosa. The months from October to March mark the passage of whale sharks and manta rays in Tofo, but January-February bring heavy rains and cyclone risk in the centre. April and November are excellent transition months, less crowded.
